The Gravel workshop/studio was created by Joel Guerin in 1985. For 20 years, Joel Guerin and his associates, have served his many valued customers: private individuals, amateur and expert collectors, local authorities and embassies. He is one of a very small number of craftsmen in France employing traditional techniques who is capable of restoring your prized family heirlooms to their original grandeur.

After acquiring his post-diploma at the prestigious "ecôle de Boule" Mr Guerin believes that in order to attain the highest standards, the workshop must be a pleasurable place to work in. A fan of classical music, the ambiance of the studio is very calming and takes the visitor on a journey back in time when quality was the only important principal.

He also offers customers cabinet making and chair reupholstering restoration for all periods and styles ranging from popular (modern) to prestigious antiques.

Joel Guerin professionally strives to restore the entrusted object to its original condition by respecting the traditions that the original furniture makers worked in.

Gallery : Furniture and artwork for sale

Mr Joel Guerin posses many dozen pieces of quality furniture for sale, some of which are awaiting restoration, others which are exhibited at his gallery next to his workshop in Vernon, France.

Vernon is a lovely picturesque village in Normandy, a flower ridden place a stones throw from Giverny home to the Monet museum and the American Art museum 40 minutes from Paris.

Monsieur Guerin is less motivated by financial profit than what he is by sharing and transcending the history and traditions of each piece. For most of his clients, be they chateau owners or private collectors, money is less important than the sentimental value placed on each piece.

The restoration of artworks is an area in which Mr. Guerin wishes to develop. He posses many pieces of art (sculpture, painting, engravings...) and is currently transforming part of his work space into an art restoration area.

In the "Gallery" section of this website you will see a few examples of the collection of the "Atelier de la Gravelle". We welcome you to come to our gallery to see a more extensive range of objets d'art and perhaps at the same time visit his storehouse in the countryside where many dozen examples of rare and exquisite items can be found. We also encourage you to visit our website again as new objects are regularly put on line.
